Really fun day with Lawrence and Akshay. My first intro to Bollywood and I learned so from Lawrence who really knows the ins and outs of the studio and all kind of interesting facts. I even recorded my own track!!!! They were so thoughtful to my experience and we started with a tour of Mumbai homes of the stars. I would highly recommend Lawrence and Akshay to anyone who wants to see what a real day at the “office” is for tv and film making. We saw live shoots, sets and all the little details you never realize are happening with tv and movies. Plus local knowledge of the stars, movie recs, and the role Bollywood plays in Mumbai! Thanks Lawrence and Akshay!
Bollywood tour - wonderful

Thank you to our guide, Suraj, for making this tour such fun. The bus picked us up right on time from our hotel in Nariman Point and Suraj pointed out landmarks on the way. We stopped at SRK house which was a highlight for us as big fans. The studio tour was great with a dance program. Suraj helped us through our song recording as we picked a Hindi song that even with karaoke we couldn’t sing. Lunch was superb at a nice restaurant unlike some of the other tours that give a small snack at the studio. I highly recommend this tour for any Bollywood fan and definitely ask for Suraj!

Excellent tour walking round the sets of Indian soap operas and films. We got to see a soap opera being filmed and rehearsing for a live reality competition show. The tour ended with some history of the set and dancers dancing then it was our turn to join in . Highly recommended a fun half day trip. Actors have a lunch break 2pm try and avoid this time as not much live action.

If this would have been our first tour in India, I might have actually given it less stars, but having been on multiple tours, and having a better understanding of the overall conditions in India, having never been here before, it was not that bad. Basically, don’t expect to see glitz and glamour. The studio that we went to was basically only used for filming TV shows. They show you a lot of posters and videos of major Bollywood movies, none of which were filmed there. They don’t tell you that, and the assumption is that major movies were filmed there, but from our minimal research, we don’t believe any major Bollywood movies were filmed at this particular studio. It just seems that this studio is the one that gives the most tours. Anyway, our tour guide was very nice and showed us all the rooms that they supposedly film in and we did actually get to see the filming of two different daytime TV shows which was fun. If we were actually from India and watched these shows on a regular basis, I would imagine it would be quite a big deal to see the stars of these TV shows up close. It’s a good way to spend some time with the family, and to just see another part of the culture.
