Great Slum Tour with Nikesh
Stephen3212, 26-09-2022
Nikesh was a gentleman and a great guide for the dharavi slums. Being from the slums himself he had a great knowledge of the ins and outs of the slum and was great at explaining the daily lifestyle of the people that live there. We loved seeing the leather production and bought some high quality leather at wholesale price. Nikesh also gave us great recommendations for Mumbai. We really enjoyed our tour and would highly recommend . Thank you Nikesh!
It was a nice experience. Nick is a friendly and helpful guide. I can recommend him to take this Tour.

This place and people here are amazing. They show how strong, kind and open we all could be.

“I sometimes think that the size of our happiness is inversely proportional to the size of our house.” (Shantaram)

Our guide Dinesh was very professional. He speaks English very good. And because of his childhood in Dharavi, He told us some interesting stories from the past.

My friends and I always wanted to visit Dharavi and finally got a chance to with the help of Shailesh and Ronak. Our tour guide, Ronak, was experienced and had a good rapport with the locals in Dharavi (since he used to live there) which gave us a sense of safety and security. He took us around in an organised manner and showed us the Plastic Recycling, Leather Tanning and Dyeing, Cloth Tie and Dye, Glass cutting, Bag-making, and other such facilities in Dharavi. Sadly, we weren’t able to visit the Diya (earthen lamps) making community area because of COVID-19. We all wore masks throughout since many of the locals didn’t or perhaps, couldn’t. We walked quite a bit! Ronak was very informative and willing to answer all my doubts and questions without hesitation (and trust me, I had them in innumerable numbers, including some sensitive and ignorant ones). Couldn’t have been more content with this experience!

Ich bin ein Inder, aber ich habe das auch in eine deutscher Sicht gemacht, und ich denke, die Leuten aus Deutschland wurde es auch gefallen, aber nur mit eine offene Gedanken.
Once in a lifetime
