A day in Mumbai, recommended!
Barbara_F, 09-12-2022
Our day in Mumbai was great, exhausting and a wonderful experience. It began tough, but our guide and co-owner of this tour company; Sameer, has plans in his pocket for the unexpected. Our tour was to begin at the Kanheri Caves, but after the long ride through Mumbai traffic, we arrived to find they had unexpectedly closed the caves for the day! It was impossible for our guide to know this beforehand, but he quickly and apologetically offered a refund for the caves and a rerouting to the Global Vipassana Pagoda nearby. The refund was unnecessary as he sincerely tried and succeeded in making up for the lost attraction. We didn’t get to see the caves but did visit the pagoda, in which I originally was not overly interested, but in the end found the visit quite worthwhile. This all took what felt like much of the day as we needed to drive back into south Mumbai to continue the tour. Feeling the day was slipping away we skipped lunch having gone prepared with protein shakes as a ‘just in case’. That allowed us to make all the remaining stops which were fascinating. We were able to walk to a couple sites which gave us a little experience and confidence to venture into the streets on our own in subsequent days. Sameer is building his business and managed to handle the unexpected exceedingly well. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with him getting a taste of life in Mumbai.

Vikrant was an amazing tour guide filled with plenty of passion to go around. It was an intimate experience to go all around South Mumbai to see what the city has to offer. It's like your own hop on/hop off tour. You'll see plenty of places - touristy and not so touristy. He's really passionate about this city and wants to make sure you're entertained the entire time. He will fill you in on as much as possible in a fun way. Highly recommended.

Wrapped up an amazing two week business trip to Mumbai with this tour. No trip to Mumbai would be complete without this experience. This is the best way to see and learn so much about these incredible sights both on and off the beaten path in one day. Sameer and his driver could not have been more gracious and knowledgeable. The Ultimate Mumbai Experience!

What an amazing day! My tour guide Vikrant was amazing! He was so knowledgeable and passionate about his city that it really just added to the experience. He was extremely flexible for my needs and very knowledgeable of everything. He showed me so many highlights of the city and made sure that I was enjoying my time. The Kanheri Caves were incredible and he made sure to show me the best highlights. I recommend going ahead and dishing out the extra money for the private car through the park for the caves, it makes it a much better experience. Don’t miss this tour with this tour guide! It was like spending the day with a friend.
One day to see everything - Recommend!

Vikrant has a lot of knowledge and passion to share about Mumbai and you will have a great time with him. I wanted to customize the tour and found that he forgot my preferred places a couple of times and brought me to the places on his list instead of mine. However he made it up by extending the tour by a couple of hours so that I could still visit the places that were on my list. I've requested to purchase spices at Crawford Market, he brought me to a shop called Spice King, but I was too tired at the end of 10 hours that I forgot to bargain. I later realised that some of the spices there are 2 - 3X more expensive than it should be, so do remember to negotiate!

I was traveling as a solo woman and as a seasoned solo traveler, I have no issues with crowds and Mumbai was safe for me. However if you're uncomfortable with crowds, do note that Vikrant sometimes walks fast and you may be walking by yourself for some distance. I'd recommend sticking to the places on Vikrant's list, as those are less crowded than the places on my list. (I chose crowded places as I felt that I needed a guide more at such places.)

Tldr, you'll have a good time if you're open to visit anything but if you have specific places in mind then you'll have to "manage" the guide.
